Dust is slutty. Dust contains samples of our lives; particles of wrappers, hairs, sequins, fragments, clues, DNA. A forensic study of a person’s dust reveals all their dirty secrets. This is a material that is of visual and metaphoric interest to me. It is intimate, yet not in a seductive way. It is mildly repulsive, although not generally consideredto be completely disgusting. Dust is everywhere, it is uncontrollable, it creeps up on you, it depresses you, it stresses you out, it causes allergic explosions. It is universal. It is intrisnic. Yet it is so fine so as to be almost imperceptible, and common to all households. Dust is beautiful. Dust is for sluts and fluff bunnies. Dust lovers unite. Eat dust. RECLAIM DUST.

“It was not too much of a room to speak of, not papered and with no pictures in it or even curtains. I gave it a quick sweep with the broom, and rinsed out the chamber pot and slid it under the bed. There were rolls of slut’s wool under there, enough for a whole sheep, and you could see that it hadn’t been swept out for a long time”. - Margeret Attwood, Alias Grace.

You should really be familiar with my inner landscape before you make it your safe place.
“Gone mad is what they say, and sometimes Run mad, as if mad is a different direction, like west; as if mad is a different house you could step into, or a separate country entirely. But when you go mad you don't go any other place, you stay where you are. And somebody else comes in.” ― Margaret Atwood, Alias Grace
